Come on down to the Great Arizona Challenge! Create video games, apps and websites, meet new people, compete for prizes, learn about how coding can help you get jobs, start businesses, and make your "dent in the universe."
This event is open to kids from all over Arizona. It will be tons of fun, whether you have been coding for years or you're just getting started.
Save your space today!
There will be classes and mentors to help coders of all skill levels, plus workshops about the fun things that are possible when you know computer programming. Also, food. Lots of good food. And t-shirts.
After the coding is over, all the kids will have a chance to present their project to their peers in a "show and tell" session. Expert judges will choose winning teams and award awesome prizes at the closing ceremony, open to families and the general public on Saturday evening (family members need to reserve seats for the closing reception, but the coders are covered under their registration).
While there is a registration fee, scholarships are available. To be eligible for a scholarship, participants must write a paragraph explaining why they love coding or why they want to take part in the code challenge! Paragraphs can be submitted to David Herrera at the email below.
If you're undecided and need some convincing, or if you have any questions, please contact Alicia Holmes at alicia@33northpartners.com or David Herrera at herrerad@sas.upenn.edu and we'll do our best to get you excited!
